Alteryx positioned as a Visionary for the second year in a row
Irvine, Calif., Feb 24, 2015 – Alteryx, Inc., the leader in data blending and advanced analytics, has been named a "Visionary" in Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms*. This is the second year in a row that Alteryx has appeared in the Visionaries Quadrant for this report. The company was also a "Visionary" in the February 19th, 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrant for Advanced Analytics Platforms and is the only vendor to be listed in the Visionaries Quadrant of both these 2015 Magic Quadrants.
"We believe our position in the Visionaries Quadrant is indicative of a major shift within the analytics market fueled by line-of-business analysts needing to provide insights in hours, not weeks, " said George Mathew, president and COO of Alteryx. "Tripling our customer base over the last year is evidence that a new generation of self-service data blending, analysis and visualization products are replacing the tools of yesteryear."
Alteryx is dedicated to the empowerment of analysts in line-of-business departments such as marketing, operations and finance. These analysts are critical to their organizations' success and have been chronically underserved by the traditional, slow and complex approach to analytics. With Alteryx, they are able to easily answer critical business questions through data blending and advanced analytics, including deep spatial and predictive analytics in hours, not weeks. Alteryx's most recent release 9.5 empowers users to accelerate analytic insights and decision making with new tools that provide in-database data blending, intuitive predictive analytics visualizations, and easier community sharing.
According to Gartner, "It is very likely that 2015 will be a critical year in which democratizing access to analytics will continue to dominate market requirements and stress the need for governance. Next generation data discovery capabilities that leverage advanced analytics under the covers to simplify business user data preparation and automate pattern exploration are likely to be more important enablers." Gartner also said, "The current BI and analytics market situation looks similar to the mainframe / workstation market in the late 80's, which had a complete shift in requirements and buyers…The market share leaders in the BI and analytics market are at similar crossroads."
This Magic Quadrant represents a snapshot of the Business Intelligence and Analytics Platform market at a particular point in time. Gartner's assessments take into account the vendors' current product offerings, direct customer feedback and overall strategies, as well as their future initiatives and product road maps. This Magic Quadrant will help business leaders that are developing their BI strategies to assess whether they have the right products and enterprise platforms to support them.
