Analysts Can Harness the Power of the Cloud for Massive Data Processing using Alteryx and Microsoft
Irvine, CA. — May 5, 2016 — Alteryx, Inc., the leader in self-service data analytics, today announced further product integration with Microsoft Corp., to empower data analysts with an easier way to perform In-database blending in one location with Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse. This combination provides analysts with a better way to take advantage of self-service data analytics that leads to deeper insights in hours, not the weeks typical of traditional approaches. With in-database blending, analysts gain a competitive advantage with the cloud-computing power offered on Microsoft Azure to scale performance of their data blending, enabling them to perform more complex operations and reduce time to insight before pushing directly to Microsoft Power BI for wider consumption across the business.
"Alteryx now makes it even easier for data analysts to perform massive data processing in the cloud with in-database blending through Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse," said Paul Ross, Vice President of International and Channel Marketing at Alteryx, Inc. "Alteryx Self-Service data analytics without coding enables analysts to create data models visually and then have Alteryx execute the processes in the Microsoft Azure cloud environment before pushing the data to Microsoft Power BI to visualize everything in one place."
"We have seen a growing number of analysts using in-database blending to speed up their time to insight," said Tiffany Wissner, Senior Director of Data Platform Marketing at Microsoft. "Now, more users can take advantage of this time to insight by using Alteryx to perform in-database blending in the Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse service. Combining the powers of Alteryx and Microsoft Azure SQL Data Warehouse empowers analysts with even more scalability and performance in the cloud."
This latest integration between Alteryx and Microsoft provides data analysts the ability to:
- Connect to Azure SQL Data Warehouse as a Data Source — The ability to quickly and easily blend data from the database with other data sources while using the processing power of the data warehouse creates a richer data set for deeper insights and speeds the delivery of analytic results.
- Perform In-Database Blending Operations — Data analysts are able to improve their data blending performance by moving the processing to the database rather than from a desktop and deliver faster data blending that is able to scale as your data changes. This integration also allows analysts to perform large scale blending and advanced analytics without the need to know or use SQL coding.
- Output to Microsoft Power BI — Finally through the existing Alteryx and Microsoft relationship, analysts can utilize the Microsoft stack and push their blended and analyzed dataset directly to Power BI to create rich visualizations, dashboards, and reports to share deeper insights within their organization.
