Your California Privacy Rights under California’s Shine-the-Light Law
Under California’s “Shine the Light” law (Cal. Civ. Code § 1798.83), California residents who provide us certain personal information are entitled to request and obtain from us, free of charge, information about the personal information (if any) we have shared with third parties for their own direct marketing use. Such requests may be made once per calendar year pertaining to any relevant third party sharing in the prior calendar year. If you are a current California resident, you may make an Alteryx Data Access Request by attesting to the fact that you are a California resident and providing a current California address in the Request Details section of the form.
We do not sell or share (as those terms are defined under CCPA) personal information, including personal information of consumers under 16 years of age.
California law defines “selling” in California Civil Code 1798.140(ad) as “selling, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or by electronic or other means, a consumer’s personal information by the business to a third party for monetary or other valuable consideration.” “Sharing” is defined in California Civil Code 1798.140(ah) as “sharing, renting, releasing, disclosing, disseminating, making available, transferring, or otherwise communicating orally, in writing, or by electronic or other means, a consumer’s personal information by the business to a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising, whether or not for monetary or other valuable consideration, including transactions between a business and a third party for cross-context behavioral advertising for the benefit of a business in which no money is exchanged.”
