When Covid-19 became a global pandemic, many of us felt helpless and with little information to understand what was going on. On top of that, a lot of us were confined to our homes. Angel Aponte felt the need to take action and do something to help those on the frontlines. As a data scientist, he decided to get his hands on as much data as possible and use his skills to create dashboards for healthcare workers.
For this reason Angel Aponte is our Trifacta Legend for November 2020!
Through advanced machine learning (ML) techniques and the use of key technologies like Trifacta, Ángel has built a COVID-19 Diagnosis Tool that helps healthcare professionals better respond to COVID-19 cases. His objective was to construct an interactive Tableau dashboard that visually detailed patients suspected of having COVID-19, the actual findings (whether they had COVID-19 or not), and ensuing treatment responses. With real-time information about cases, healthcare professionals could better identify patterns, understand anomalous cases, deliver key recommendations for new cases, effectively manage resources, and much more. Angel’s key work is a Preliminary Diagnosis and Recommendation dashboard where Neural Natural Language Modeling and Text Mining/Sentiment Analysis were applied to produce the results.
