Buckle up! Today is entirely dedicated to exam preparation and execution. For the first half of the day we will cover more types of questions to expect, timing, strategy, and approach. On the second half of the day, get ready because we will be giving you your first shot at the Core certification exam. If you pass, HOORAH! You’ve graduated boot camp. If you didn’t quite have the performance you wanted, don’t worry. We will have a mentored lab for you to review your results, understand what you did right, and what some areas of focus should be for you next attempt. But it doesn’t stop there, if you want to make sure you leave our conference with a ‘pass’, we will be continuing boot camp on Thursday for those looking for a second attempt!

This exam, along with the Spatial Master exam, is being offered for the first time at Inspire Nashville! The Alteryx Automation Master Certification is part of the new “Mastery Series” of certifications that allow you to prove your skills in a specific area of expertise. Additional areas of specialization will be released over the course of the next year.  After passing the Alteryx Designer Core Certification exam you are eligible to take a Mastery exam.

The Automation Master Certification allows you to demonstrate your mastery of dynamic workflows, macros, apps, and automating analytic processes. The certified Automation Master is a resource for organizations to operationalize and productionize Alteryx solutions. This certification covers Alteryx Designer, Alteryx Server, and Alteryx Gallery.

A computer will be provided for you to take the exam at Inspire.

The exam tests your ability to:

• Build dynamic workflows that can accommodate highly volatile data sets
• Connect to data sources from the web via APIs with the Download tool
• Dynamically query databases
• Optimize and troubleshoot workflows
• Create complex batch and iterative macros
• Create chained applications with cascading logic and conditional functionality
• Schedule repeatable workflows in a Server environment and deploy macros and apps to the Gallery
• Develop production quality macros

You Should Take This Certification Exam If:

You are Core Certified and you have mastery-level skills with dynamic workflows, macros, apps, connectors, and scheduling. It is recommended, but not required, to pass the Advanced exam before attempting this exam. You should be comfortable using all tools in the Interface and Developer tool palettes and have experience scheduling workflows and sharing assets in the Gallery. You should have extensive experience with all topics covered on the exam.

The exam covers Alteryx Designer and Location Insights data, including TomTom mapping, drivetime, and geocoding data.

• Read in data from any supported spatial file format, including different spatial projections and coordinate systems
• Create and manipulate spatial objects
• Establish and quantify spatial relationships between objects
• Use spatial relationships to create new spatial objects (e.g., remove or extract overlapping areas)
• Leverage spatial data to determine optimal routing and delivery paths
• Select the optimum location to place an asset based on spatial analysis
• Perform demographic analysis for a population within a given trade area
• Conduct complex, multistep spatial area analyses
• Create detailed maps with multiple spatial objects.
• Create apps that include interactive maps in the interface or output

You Should Take This Certification Exam If:

You are Core Certified and you have experience with a wide variety of complex spatial analyses. It is recommended, but not required, to pass the Advanced exam before attempting this exam. You should be comfortable using all tools in the Spatial tool palette and have mastery-level skills on all topics covered on the exam.

The Alteryx Advanced exam is the next stepping stone in the Platform Certification journey, allowing users to demonstrate their higher-level abilities with the Alteryx Designer. The exam builds on concepts, configurations and tools that are included in the Core exam, and also requires users to be able to understand a wider breadth of tool functionality and apply their knowledge to more complex applications. The exam includes two parts. Part I contains multiple-choice and True/False questions while Part II includes four (4) practical questions that require you to build a workflow to arrive at the correct answer.

Whether it be predictive, in-database, macro, applications, web scraping or more, this comprehensive exam will test and push the best-of-the-best. For those who successfully pass, they will be considered the Elite users of the Alteryx Designer!
