Whilst tendering and project managing large scale projects such as Sydney Metro, Barangaroo Services Infrastructure and Data Centers, Phil realized the power of digital transformation, he then transitioned to lead the 10 member Project Controls team consisting of systems engineering specialists in data science, analytics, video production, design, metrics reporting and geospatial. The mandate of the team is productivity gains through the use of data and analytics.

Chief Data Scientist at Alteryx, Dr Dan Putler has over 30 years of experience in developing predictive analytics models for companies and organizations that cover a large number of industry verticals, ranging from the performing arts to B2B financial services. He is a co-author of the book, “Customer and Business Analytics: Applied Data Mining for Business Decision Making Using R”, which is published by Chapman and Hall/CRC Press. He is one of the principal shapers of Alteryx's roadmap for predictive analytics and machine learning, helping to guide Alteryx into the Leader quadrant of Gartner's Magic Quadrant for Data Science and Machine Learning. Prior to joining Alteryx, Dan was a professor of marketing and marketing research at the University of British Columbia’s Sauder School of Business and Purdue University’s Krannert School of Management.

David has held the position of Director of Finance and Corporate Services and Company Secretary of the Royal Flying Doctor Service of Australia for the past 7 years. In this role David is responsible for leading national funding strategy, developing performance reporting and business systems for the RFDS group of companies. Key achievements in recent years include the development of a national activity based costing system, implementation of a mapping tool for service planning and the establishment of a new data lake for the analysis and modelling of flight data.
David has over 20 years’ experience working in the Not for Profit sector, including CFO positions with the New Zealand Engineering & Manufacturing Industry Training Organisation based in Auckland and Domiciliary Care SA based in Adelaide.
David commenced his career working in the South Australian Government holding several positions in SA Health, The Queen Elizabeth Hospital and the Department of Treasury & Finance. David is a CPA and member of the Australian Institute of Company Directors.

Back in 2015, BI Team was handling tons of requests which eventually became backlogs that were to overwhelm for the team to handle and became a bottle neck.
Copa Airlines was then introduced to Alteryx and Tableau and now there is more than 50 users building workflows, 5000 data-driven users, 24 departments engaging with analytic-content and over 200 scheduled workflows. With the growing focus on data, understanding and integration across the team, Copa Airlines started to build Center of Excellence of Self-Service Analytics in 2018 to support the organization.

Manuel Alejandro Bastidas, 25 years old, Italian born in Venezuela living in Panama, is currently the Leader of the CoE in Self-Service Analytics at Copa Airlines, and his main goal is to help people overcome their fear of data and get them to be creative data lovers.
Manuel worked as a consultant before, guiding and working with companies on the use of Tableau and Alteryx, and joined Copa in the beginning of 2017. Since then Copa’s Data-Driven-Users has grown 50 times its size and, with the support of a very specialized team, status quo throughout the company is changing everyday.

As Managing Director of IAPA, Annette is the driving force behind promoting the strategic role of data and analytics in business and helping the industry meet the challenges of a fast-paced data environment, including addressing the analytics skills shortage and fostering data informed decision-making.
Key to this role is the recent introduction of IAPA-certification for analytics to help those who work in data and analytics gain independent recognition of their skills; and the soft skills in-house course that helps analytics teams to improve skills in communication, collaboration and interaction with business stakeholders.
