Evaluation of academic research is often a sensitive and intricate subject. Previously, researchers and their work were assessed by rather simplistic means that could be biased, and consequently misinterpreted and misused. But here comes the biggest challenge: How can institutional planners and research administrators stay afloat in the sheer amount of data now available to them so that they can efficiently collect, analyze, and disseminate?
