The 2025 State of Data Analysts in the Age of AI

A new global survey of data analysts reveals surprising findings about the use of both modern and traditional analytics tools. While 97% of analysts say AI tools accelerate their daily tasks, 76% also admit they still rely on manual, spreadsheet work for data prep.

The survey of 1,400 data analysts uncovers how data analysts view their evolving role amid the rise of analytics automation and AI tools.

Highlights of the survey published in the “The 2025 State of Data Analysts in the Age of AI” include:

  • 87% of analysts report increased strategic importance in the last year
  • 7 in 10 say AI and automation make them more effective in their roles
  • Only 17% express deep concern AI will take over their jobs
