The Information LabChris makes data make sense at The Information Lab

Chris Love is a Alteryx & Tableau at The Information Lab where his role involves helping people make sense of their data through training and consultancy.

Chris has an extensive background in data analysis spanning over 10 years; prior to joining The Information Lab in January 2014 he worked at Experian Marketing Services as a Global Development Team Lead, managing three groups of data analysts using Alteryx and MS SQL Server and helping manage the groups transition from SAS. The pinnacle of his career so far came at Alteryx’s Inspire Conference in 2013 where, pitted against nine other Alteryx super-users, he totalled the best time overall to become the first Grand Prix winner outside North America.

Alteryx in Chris’ own words:

"My favorite thing about Alteryx is that it makes my job fun. No-one enjoys spending hours in Excel or wants to spend time writing programs when they are looking for data insight. Alteryx allows me to get to the crux of any problem quickly, and means I spend less time on the mundane and more time on the analysis, where I believe I can add real value.”

Joe Mako
@joemako
Director of Visual Analytics

Joe brings data to life at Rosenblatt Securities

Joe Mako is Director of Visual Analytics at Rosenblatt Securities and part of the Execution Analytics & Consulting group, which works with some of the largest institutional investors in the world. Joe helps translate data to communicate insights that drive decisions, enabling answers to complex questions. He is a contributor to the Tableau community where he has helped thousands of people worldwide, and recognized as a Tableau Zen master two years running.

Alteryx is Joe’s own words:

"It is really important that data analysts can do their own data blending and advanced analytics. This reduces the time-to-insight with faster self-iteration. It takes more time to put together a spec request and iterate with another team. I love the fact that in Alteryx I can create a workflow that solves a specific data or analytics challenge, and then package it up as a reusable macros that just becomes another tool I can use in the next analysis I do."

IntalyticsCameron models the future at Intalytics.

Cameron Steele is currently Manager of Modeling Services at Intalytics where he is responsible for constructing statistical forecasting models. Prior to joining Intalytics in 2010, Cameron was a Senior Analyst at Buxton. He has been the primary Alteryx developer at both companies heading up training and tool development for both internal and external clients. Cameron competed in the annual Alteryx Grand Prix competition four times (2009-2012), finishing in the top three places each year.

Alteryx in Cameron’s own words:

"Being empowered by a tool like Alteryx that makes it incredibly easy to get at, blend, and analyze data all in one platform without the need to get some other specialist involved. This empowers me to pose theories and investigate them all on my own. The lack of fear of wasting someone else’s time (or really even much of my time for that matter) on a whim that may not be anything lets me streamline my own processes and drag insights out of data that otherwise would have been remained hidden. Alteryx empowers me to do things that otherwise would have taken specialist training to accomplish."
