Training for New Alteryx Users at Inspire 2015

By Jim Schattin on Apr 20, 2015 - 12:04pm

One of the most popular features of Inspire has always been the complimentary product training we offer. Many attendees cite these classes as the reason they were able to accelerate their productivity, and this is especially true for new users of Alteryx.

This year we've significantly expanded our training options for attendees of Inspire 2015, coming up May 17-20 in Boston. Classrooms are much larger to accommodate more users, but more importantly we've acted on feedback from previous Inspire conferences and developed three tiers of courses so attendees can match the course content to their skill level.

Key Takeaways from the Gartner Business Intelligence & Analytics Summit

By Beth Narrish on Apr 20, 2015 - 11:04am

I recently had the pleasure of attending the Gartner Business Intelligence & Analytics Summit in Las Vegas. Together with over 2,000 attendees, I heard Gartner analysts cover the latest market trends, which included the growing importance of self-service analytics capabilities.

Alteryx received many positive mentions throughout the conference. Rita Sallam ran a data preparation session where Alteryx was positioned as the only vendor who fits into all three types of self-service data preparation models: stand-alone, integrated with BI/data discovery, and integrated with advanced analytics platforms.

Analysts Josh Parenteau and Gareth Herschel walked attendees through the results of the 2015 Gartner Magic Quadrants on Business Intelligence and Analytics Platforms and Advanced Analytics Platforms.

Data analysts in Sales, Marketing, Operations and Finance must make decisions based on data from a variety of sources and formats. Unfortunately, the process for bringing this wide array of data together is where they often run into issues. In fact, a recent Alteryx survey of more than 200 business and analytics leaders found that more than 90% of respondents cited the lack of data blending capabilities as the primary reason they cannot get the business insight they need in a timely manner.

Get More From Salesforce.com and Marketing Automation Data... With Data Blending & Analytics!

By Ritu Jain on Apr 10, 2015 - 10:04am

If you are like most companies, you have invested in a marketing automation and a CRM system like Salesforce.com. Correctly so, as these are essential tools for you to not only manage campaign execution, lead generation and key sales activities, but also to align marketing and sales organizations within your company.

But these are not cheap tools. Yet most companies never realize the full potential from their investments in these systems. Why? Primarily because most companies just rely on the pre-built APIs to connect Salesforce.com with Marketing Automation systems. These pre-built APIs while are great for synchronizing two systems, they lack the sophisticated data blending and analytic capabilities required to derive actionable insights from the data within these systems.

Data-driven Rugby

By Seann Gardiner on Apr 9, 2015 - 10:04am

Many North Americans have never played rugby and some have never seen a rugby match. I was lucky enough to play rugby as a child in Canada and continued to play well into my twenties. I still spend many of my Saturday mornings watching games. So when Accenture contacted us about using Alteryx In a project for a rugby tournament about 18 months ago, needless to say, I was excited!
