Award-winning author, journalist, and radio and TV personality

Award-winning author, journalist, and radio and TV personality, Stephen J. Dubner is best-known as co-author of the Freakonomics book series, which has sold over 7 million copies in more than 40 countries. Freakonomics, published in 2005, was an instant international bestseller and cultural phenomenon. Today, Dubner hosts the Freakonomics Radio podcast, which sees 5 million downloads a month; and maintains the popular Freakonomics blog, "the most readable economics blog in the universe." He has appeared widely on television, as a regular contributor to ABC News and as host of the Emmy-nominated NFL Network program, Football Freakonomics. Dubner has been writing since he was a child, his first published work appeared in Highlights magazine. As an undergraduate at Appalachian State University, he started a rock band, which sent him to New York City. Ultimately, he quit playing music to earn an M.F.A. in writing at Columbia University, where he also taught in the English Department. He became an editor and writer at New York magazine and The New York Times before quitting to write books.

He will offer his vision on where self-service data analytics and Alteryx are headed; highlight inspiring customer successes with Alteryx; and set the tone for the conference. Dean's leadership and motivational skills, along with his ability to create, communicate and realize a vision, are a driving force behind the Alteryx focus on empowering analysts. He is an accomplished and respected industry professional with a strong knowledge of industry dynamics, technology trends, and application requirements related to market analysis and spatial technologies.

Olivia Duane Adams is a founding partner of Alteryx, and as Chief Customer Officer is responsible for overseeing and maximizing the complete Alteryx customer experience, from engagement to on-boarding, communications, performance, and retention. She has interacted with nearly every Alteryx customer, giving her a holistic perspective of the overall experience from implementation to adoption success. Libby will kick off the closing keynote with a recap of the highlights of Inspire 2017, present the trophy to the winner of the Alteryx Grand Prix, present customer awards, and reveal the top-secret location of Inspire 2018.


Ned Harding, Chief Technical Officer, Alteryx

Ned Harding is Vice President and Chief Technology Officer, and a founding partner of Alteryx. In this role, he is responsible for developing technologies that improve the speed and capacity of Alteryx products for self-service data analytics. Ned has developed proprietary compression algorithms that are estimated to have reduced the number of data CDs required for the 2000 U.S. Census audit from approximately 900 discs to 70. He has also led the development teams of core technologies for desktop and web-based count and fulfillment engines for large, record-level databases, including Experian's 650-million record National Vehicle database. Prior to co-founding Alteryx, Ned was a senior software engineer at Qualitative Marketing Software, Inc. (QMSoft), a developer and manufacturer of database and turnkey direct marketing solutions, where he was the lead developer of several industry-leading products, including GeoStan and InfoStan.


Jay Bourland - Senior Vice President, Engineering, Alteryx

As the Senior Vice President of Engineering, Jay brings 20 years of high technology experience to Alteryx. Prior to Alteryx, he led the Customer Engagement Solutions line of business and served as the Group Technology Officer for Pitney Bowes Software. While serving as the Vice President and General Manager of the Customer Data Quality and Data Integration business, he was responsible for re-establishing Pitney Bowes in this market and turned a business in 10% decline to a 40% growth rate. He has also served in various product management and professional services roles. Prior to the private sector, he worked for several years in higher education at University of Washington, Stanford University, and Colorado State University. Jay has an M.S. and Ph.D. in Applied Mathematics from Southern Methodist University. His B.S. in Mathematics with a minor in Computer Science is from University of Tennessee at Martin.

Laura Sellers is the Vice President of Product Management and Product Marketing at Alteryx, responsible for driving the direction of the Alteryx Platform. Over the last 9 years at Alteryx, Laura has helped deliver to market hundreds of enhancements to the Alteryx product line, expanding the function of the platform to include robust data preparation and blending, spatial, and predictive features, as well as helping to define a new self-service data analytics market in the analytics space. Laura is dedicated to driving a product vision that exceeds the expectations of customers, drives new value to the analytics market, helps make the life of an analyst easier, and enables enterprises to harness the value of analytics across their organization. With over 15 years of experience in the technology industry and a comprehensive background managing complex programs, projects, and products for Fortune 500 companies in technology, software and Internet industries, Laura brings with her a diversified experience in business analysis, sales, finance, operations, service and support. She enjoys returning all the support she has received during her career, and provides leadership counsel and mentoring to share her experience.
