Sole-source government supplier brings agility to 2010 Census for real business intelligence

Orange, CA – May 9, 2011 – Business intelligence software innovator, Alteryx, Inc., selected by the U.S. Census Bureau for storing and distributing the 2010 Census database in Alteryx software, has announced its release today of 2010 Census Redistricting Data (Public Law 94-171 or PL94) available for free download through its website, www.alteryx.com. This first of three phased 2010 Census data releases, delivers the latest U.S. population data through unique hosted SaaS and on-premise desktop and cloud offerings that acclerate data reporting and analytics.

“The Redistricting Data release updates population counts for race and housing unit counts by occupancy status (occupied units, vacant units) for all states,” explained Amy Holland, Vice President, Product Management at Alteryx. “With Alteryx, this release supports fast and flexible data selection using standard and custom geographies, including drivetime-defined areas around an address, radii-defined circular areas around a point, blocks, block groups, census tracks, congressional districts, school districts, Native American reservation boundaries, and counties.”

Laury Pflaum, Real Estate Analyst for Bealls Outlet Stores stated, “We need to add the latest 2010 Census data as these data are available, and we can’t afford the time and effort needed to process this data in its raw state. With Alteryx software, we have incorporated the right data for our business analytics, on demand and with extremely high resolution and accuracy. We can do this in just minutes to process hundreds of potential sites across vast urban metro and suburban geographies, anywhere in the U.S.”

The Alteryx work flow approach to delivering end-to-end agile business intelligence has proven successful for business executives across vertical industries. This approach is taking business intelligence processes and analytics to a new level with easy integration and implemenation of 2010 Census data assets.
