As we evolve our offerings at Alteryx, we are focused on deeply integrating generative AI capabilities into our analytics platform. We are reimagining the delivery of analytics in a world ubiquitous with generative AI, leveraging our longstanding history of more than 20 years of analytics mastery to ensure our customers reap the benefit of this groundbreaking technology.
This is why we are pleased to introduce Alteryx AiDIN, the AI engine that infuses the power of generative AI & Machine Learning (ML) across the Alteryx Analytics Cloud Platform. Alteryx AiDIN combines the intuitive and powerful nature of generative AI with the trusted, secure and enterprise-grade capabilities of the Alteryx Analytics Cloud Platform and is built to help anyone accelerate intelligent decisions across the enterprise.
The features we are releasing today will rapidly accelerate analytics delivery in the following ways:
- Improved Time-to-Value: Reduce the time required to derive insights from data. Quickly synthesize and summarize key insights for important stakeholders to inform critical business decisions. With this new functionality, you can rapidly generate workflow documentation in seconds.
- Improved Operational Efficiency: Automate repetitive content creation tasks and reduce manual effort. Create insight-rich PowerPoint decks with just a few clicks, reducing time spent documenting business critical workflows.
- Enhanced Governance: Ensure that data and analytics processes are transparent and auditable. Offload documentation tasks to generative AI technology, ensuring consistent and accurate output at scale.
Alteryx AiDIN encompasses not just the latest in generative AI capabilities, but also the existing rich set of AI & ML capabilities in Alteryx. Since 2019 Alteryx has kept our customers updated with the latest language model powered capabilities and curated applications in the forms of topic modelling, text summarization, and sentiment analysis.
Let’s take a deeper look at three of our newest accelerative generative AI-powered features:
Workflow Summary Tool
The Workflow Summary Tool is a new Designer Desktop tool by Alteryx that uses OpenAI’s GPT API to provide summaries of Alteryx workflows. The tool provides concise summaries of a workflow’s purpose, inputs, outputs, and key logic steps. It can be used to document workflows as they are created or to summarize existing workflows for easier understanding.
The Workflow Summary Tool can be applied to a single workflow or to a whole directory of workflows, and the resulting summary can be stored in the Workflow Info Description field or exported for further analysis. Alteryx developed strategies to convert each workflow file into text that the ChatGPT model can accept, including selectively extracting meaningful tool configuration options, summarizing especially long tools, and summarizing groups of tools. This will make documenting workflows easier and faster for Alteryx users.
Alteryx Auto Insights Magic Documents
Magic Documents is a new Auto Insights feature that leverages the Microsoft Azure Cognitive Services Open AI Service, an enterprise-grade service, to develop automated communications — synthesizing and delivering trusted analytical insights to stakeholders.
Here’s how Magic Documents work: Once you’ve developed your insights in Auto Insights, simply select your medium of communication (e.g. e-mail, PowerPoint, etc.) and indicate your audience. AiDIN will then automatically draft a communications deliverable that summarizes your insights in plain language. You can then review and edit the communication as needed and send it off to your stakeholders with just a few clicks.
OpenAI Connector
Open AI connector enables generative AI to be embedded in Alteryx Designer workflows. A drag and drop tool, the OpenAI connector will generate natural language outputs from user data and analytics. This will give users the ability to easily change how they present and share data.
We’re just getting started
These announcements are just the beginning when it comes to the robust capabilities that AiDIN will offer. As Generative AI capabilities evolve, Alteryx is developing a slate of new applications for AI that continue to harmonize the value of generative capabilities with the guard-railed applications enterprise needs.
