Mark AndersonChief Executive Officer
Mark Anderson is the chief executive officer (CEO) of Alteryx. Prior to Alteryx, Mark was president of Palo Alto Networks where he and the team grew the company from pre-IPO in 2012 to become one of the largest security companies in the world. Prior to Palo Alto Networks, Mark led sales and go-to-market initiatives at F5 Networks where he was instrumental in driving the company’s long-term, sustained hyper-growth.
For the past two years, Mark also served on the Alteryx Board of Directors. During his tenure on the Alteryx board, Mark played an active role in the company’s operations and strategy. Mark also served as the executive chairman at Avi Networks, a private, multi-cloud ADC innovator in Silicon Valley (acquired by VMWare in 2019), and has served on the board of directors for Cloudflare, Inc. (NYSE: NET) since Aug. 2019. Earlier in his career, Mark held leadership positions at Cisco Systems and Lucent Technologies. He holds a B.A. in business and economics from York University in Toronto.
Olivia Duane Adams
Olivia Duane AdamsChief Advocacy Officer
Olivia Duane Adams (Libby) is the chief advocacy officer (CAO) and co-founder of Alteryx, and one of only a handful of female founders to take a technology company public, along with her founding counterparts, Dean Stoecker and Ned Harding. Libby’s vision and leadership in the creation of the world’s leading data science and analytics community is a key factor in the company’s 24-year success. She is responsible for strengthening upskilling efforts for Alteryx customers to enable a culture of analytics, scaling the presence of Alteryx in academia and furthering diversity and inclusion in the technology space.
Under Libby’s leadership, the Alteryx Community has grown both on- and offline, serving as an incubator for the workforce of the future and empowering all workers to become data workers, with an intentional focus on supporting diversity in analytics. As the former chief customer officer, Libby recognized early on that creating a customer-centric culture went beyond delivering a successful product experience and set out to enable a global community of passionate data lovers, where Alteryx users can solve more together, boldly step into the unknown and achieve more than they ever thought possible. Today, Libby’s passion for customers holds strong as she works closely with Alteryx users and the larger analytics community on key initiatives to diversify their workforces, upskill their people and deliver meaningful outcomes and insights in our ever-changing business world.
Before co-founding Alteryx, Libby held various sales, customer, and marketing roles at Strategic Mapping, Donnelley and VNU Business Media.
Libby earned a bachelor’s degree from Castleton University in Vermont and is an active member of the university’s alumni association.
Matthew StaubleChief Customer Officer
Matthew Stauble is chief customer officer (CCO) of Alteryx and is responsible for developing and delivering customer strategy and ensuring customer growth and success as Alteryx continues to scale globally. He leads the customer success management, customer support, customer success advocacy and customer enablement functions at Alteryx. Matthew’s track record of leading customer organizations in high-growth companies and focus on value maximation for customers is key as Alteryx continues to ensure success for its passionate growing and expanding user base.
Matthew has over 20 years of experience in customer-centric roles where he accelerated growth for startups by building world-class infrastructure, processes and teams across customer organizations. His deep focus in global expansion, business process and technology optimization, and developing and recognizing human talent is driving the company’s customer strategy forward, as more data workers across the globe recognize the power of the analytic process automation. Matthew’s background in navigating market convergence and realizing market opportunity is a critical piece of the company’s expansion strategy, and his commitment to customer satisfaction ensures Alteryx continues to attract and retain customers.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Matthew was consulting at Pensando Systems, a developer of new edge services models of enterprise and cloud computing, helping build their customer service strategy. Prior to Pensando Systems, Matthew spent nearly 10 years supporting customer organizations at Palo Alto Networks, earning his most recent title as senior vice president and head of worldwide customer services. In his roles at Palo Alto Networks, Matthew helped propel the company into its next stage of high growth, building the customer organization from 15 people to 1,200+ people and turning a startup that generated millions in revenue to a $4 billion company at the time of his departure. Prior to Palo Alto Networks, he was vice president of services at Innotas, where he was responsible for account management, delivery services, support and education. Matthew has also held similar positions at Hewlett-Packard (HP), Mercury (acquired by HP) and Kintana, where he launched the company's customer support organization.
Matthew currently serves as an advisor for Pensando Systems and Exabeam, a leading security analytics and automation company. He holds a bachelor’s degree in clinical psychology from San Jose State University and resides with his family in Los Gatos, California.
Kevin RubinChief Financial Officer
Kevin Rubin is chief financial officer (CFO) of Alteryx, responsible for all financial management activities including finance and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and business applications. Kevin brings 20 years of experience in the industry, leading both public and private technology companies through rapid growth and expansion.
Before joining Alteryx, Kevin was chief financial officer of MSC Software, a private equity-backed software company. Kevin was responsible for managing MSC through significant transition including aligning the financial and business operations to support MSC’s growth through systems, processes, and human capital. Kevin also led strategic activities including debt and recapitalizations transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
Kevin previously served as chief financial officer for Pictage, a venture-backed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider; DataDirect Networks, a data storage equipment provider; and MRV Communications, a publicly traded telecommunications equipment provider. Kevin started his career at Arthur Andersen as a member of its Technology Practice working with a broad range of small, privately held companies to large, publicly traded organizations.
Kevin is a certified public accountant (inactive) in California and holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics with an emphasis in accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Derek KnudsenChief Technology Officer
Derek is the chief technology officer of Alteryx, responsible for all technology and technology initiatives at the company, including Engineering and IT. Derek brings more than 20 years of experience helping companies leverage technology for strategic advantage, as well as leading technology organizations as they scale for growth.
Before joining Alteryx, Derek was a partner with Credera, focused on technology and business strategy. Derek also worked at Irvine Company where he was a divisional CIO, responsible for the technology and digital transformation of their largest business, Irvine Company Apartments.
Derek has also held a variety of roles at Avanade, including chief technology officer, vice president of corporate strategy and director of engineering. Derek also served as solution architect at Accenture, focused on architecting digital transformation solutions for Fortune 500 companies.
Derek holds a MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona.
Suresh VittalChief Product Officer
Suresh Vittal is the chief product officer (CPO) of Alteryx and is responsible for the strategic vision of Alteryx’s leading analytics and data science innovation. Suresh leads the Product Management, Engineering and Development organizations, playing a critical role in the company’s cloud, data science and analytics automation product strategy. His experience driving cloud transformation for leading software companies is helping Alteryx make machine learning and artificial intelligence easily accessible to citizen users.
Suresh embraces a product-led growth strategy and drives an innovation agenda focused on delighting customers and accelerating their transformation journeys. With over 20 years of experience at various size and stage companies, Suresh has led teams across platform and product strategy, product marketing, pricing, packaging and go-to-market strategy. Most recently, he was responsible for overseeing product management, product marketing and go-to-market strategy for Adobe’s Digital Experience business, including Adobe Experience Cloud, one of the most comprehensive set of applications helping brands drive digital transformation.
Suresh joined Adobe through the company’s acquisition of Neolane in 2013, where he served as chief product officer. Before Neolane, he was instrumental in building and scaling the Customer Intelligence practice at Forrester Research, where his research agenda focused on enterprise marketing technologies, database marketing strategies and customer analytics. Prior to joining Forrester in 2006, Suresh spent several years working at SPSS and NetGenesis. An industry thought-leader, Suresh regularly speaks on digital marketing, cross-channel campaign management, the intersection of data and creativity and the future of real-time enterprises.
Suresh holds a master’s degree in business administration from Greenwich College, The University of Hull in the United Kingdom, as well as a master’s degree of science in computer information systems from Bentley College.
Sharmila MulliganChief Strategy And Marketing Officer
Sharmila Mulligan is the chief strategy and marketing officer at Alteryx, responsible for the company’s strategic planning, global alliances, technology alliances, global go-to-market strategy and marketing initiatives inclusive of direct and indirect channels. Sharmila also leads the company’s growing Silicon Valley-based operations. After spending 25+ years building game-changing software companies in a variety of software and software-as-a-service (SaaS) markets, Sharmila is now leading Alteryx through the next wave of innovation and strategy in the data science and analytics market and driving the company's market opportunity as a leader in analytic process automation (APA). APA is shaping the market convergence of analytics, data science and process automation in one unified platform experience.
Sharmila joined Alteryx in the company’s acquisition of ClearStory Data, a modern data analytics company where she served as chief executive officer (CEO). Since joining Alteryx, Sharmila has accelerated the company’s strategy to meet the global demand for advanced analytics, making data science, machine learning and AI accessible to everyone. In addition, Sharmila supports customers and global partners in their digital transformation initiatives. Her deep knowledge of the data market, market convergence and the ecosystem led to the creation of the analytic process automation category.
Prior to ClearStory Data, Sharmila was the chief marketing officer at Aster Data Systems (acquired by Teradata Corporation) and early on at Cloudera. She was also CMO and EVP at Opsware (founded by Marc Andreessen and Ben Horowitz and acquired by HP), Vice President at Netscape, Vice President at AOL and previously held roles at Microsoft, HP Software, and General Magic. She has driven the creation of several multi-billion-dollar market categories, including Application Servers, Data Center automation and Big Data analytics.
Sharmila sits on the board of directors for ConocoPhillips and is an active investor and advisor to numerous technology companies. She also serves on the advisory board for several universities that are advancing their data and analytics programs. She is passionate about supporting women in business and leadership roles and co-leads the Alteryx People + Analytics initiative as well as a variety of STEM programs. Sharmila earned two bachelor’s degrees in computer science and economics and received her master’s degree in business administration from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Chris LalChief Legal Officer
Chris Lal is chief legal officer of Alteryx, responsible for all legal affairs, including intellectual property, licensing, contract negotiations, compliance, and corporate governance. Chris has over 20 years of experience as a corporate, transactions, and securities attorney representing both public and private companies in various phases of development and growth.
Before joining Alteryx, Chris was vice president, general counsel and secretary of Tilly’s, Inc., an NYSE-traded retail and e-commerce company, where he oversaw legal affairs related to SEC and NYSE compliance, Federal Trade Commission matters, e-commerce, intellectual property, and labor and employment. He managed complex litigation and was interim head of human resources.
Before Tilly’s, Chris served as general counsel at Thompson National Properties, Sunstone Hotel Investors, and RemedyTemp, helping these companies through various stages of growth and corporate change. Chris began his career at O’Melveny & Myers, LLP, as a member of the corporate and securities practice, where he advised clients on matters including public securities offerings and private placements, corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
Chris holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
Alan JacobsonChief Data and Analytics Officer
Alan Jacobson is the chief data and analytics officer (CDAO) of Alteryx, driving key data initiatives and accelerating digital business transformation for the Alteryx global customer base. As CDAO, Jacobson leads the company’s data science practice as a best-in-class example of how a company can get maximum leverage out of its data and the insights it contains. He is responsible for data management and governance, product and internal data, and use of the Alteryx Platform to drive continued growth.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Alan held a variety of leadership roles at Ford Motor Company across engineering, marketing, sales and new business development; most recently leading a team of data scientists to drive digital transformation across the enterprise. As an Alteryx evangelist at Ford, Alan spent many years leveraging the Alteryx Platform across the company and witnessed first-hand the impact a culture of analytics can have on the bottom line and what it takes to succeed as a data-driven enterprise. Alan will extend his role as an evangelist to customers, helping data workers and business leaders alike foster a culture of analytics and deepen their investments in digital transformation strategies.
Alan was recognized as a top leader in the global automotive industry as an Automotive Hall of Fame Leadership & Excellence award winner and an Outstanding Engineer of the Year by the Engineering Society of Detroit, and works with the National Academy of Engineering and other organizations as an advisor on data science topics.
Alan earned his bachelor’s degrees in engineering from the University of New Hampshire and received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech.
Scott DavidsonChief Operating Officer
Scott Davidson is the chief operating officer (COO) at Alteryx and is responsible for building out the infrastructure that enables global scale and efficiency, including Corporate Development, Information Technology, Enterprise Applications and Human Resources. By aligning both people- and business-centered operations, Scott ensures that Alteryx associates are seamlessly integrated into the company’s culture and systems.
Scott brings 20 years of senior operational and financial leadership experience to Alteryx. Having held strategic roles at fast-growing software companies, Scott supports the execution on strategy for growth and innovation at Alteryx as the business continues to invest in talent, grow its user base and enter new markets. His strong background in working with data-centric companies and keen understanding of how data can be leveraged to solve real-world problems are instrumental in ensuring Alteryx is well-positioned for hyper growth and market leadership.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Scott served as the chief operating officer and chief financial officer (CFO) at Hortonworks, a public open source data platform company that he took public in 2014. As COO and CFO, he oversaw Finance, HR, IT, Corporate Development, Sales, Marketing and Professional Services. In 2018, he successfully engineered the $5.2 billion merger of Hortonworks into Cloudera. Prior to this, Scott was the CFO of Quest Software and held strategic financial roles at Citrix Systems.
Scott holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami.
Billy SpearsChief Information Security Officer
Billy Spears is the chief information security officer (CISO) at Alteryx and is responsible for overseeing enterprise cybersecurity and associated risk management practices. With a strong focus in both internal and external security, Billy ensures that Alteryx associates, customers, partners and vendors are thoroughly protected via state-of-the-art policies, processes and technologies. His passion for architecting and implementing strategic solutions that build trust, enable resilience and incorporate core principles are driving transformation and simplifying processes across the organization.
Billy brings more than 20 years of experience leading and building teams in the information and security space across both the corporate world and the federal government. His strong background in information and security across different industries and verticals is critical in enforcing best practices within all areas of the business. Billy’s informed guidance and strategic approach to risk management and security efforts is instrumental in improving protections as Alteryx and the larger self-service analytics market continues to grow and expand across the globe.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Billy served as executive vice president and chief information security officer at loanDepot, a market leader and online mortgage lender for consumers. While in this role, Billy helped create the first security enabled digital home loan experience for consumers – a game-changing advancement in the mortgage business. Billy has held similar positions at companies like Hyundai Capital America, General Electric and Dell, as well as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Billy is an adjunct cybersecurity professor for Webster University and a member of the company advisory board for Cymatic, a web application defense platform. Billy holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from National University and received his MBA from University of Phoenix.

L. David Kingsley is the chief human resources officer (CHRO) of Alteryx and is responsible for leading the company’s global human resources (HR) teams across talent acquisition, onboarding, total rewards, learning and development, HR business partners and corporate social responsibility (CSR), including the Alteryx for Good program. David’s passion for data-driven insights and leadership supporting Alteryx associates in their roles and career paths is key as the company scales for continued global growth.
David brings over 20 years of experience helping global, value-driven companies grow through focused initiatives around workforce and succession planning, leadership development, employee experience and employer brand initiatives. His strong background in using data to drive employee engagement in high-growth companies is amplifying the Alteryx mission of using analytics to put the thrill back into problem solving. David’s commitment to building diverse teams and an inclusive culture at Alteryx empowers associates to build best-in-class products and efficiently serve the company’s growing customer base.
Prior to joining Alteryx, David served as the chief people officer of Vlocity, leading up to and through its acquisition by Salesforce. Prior to Vlocity, David served in executive roles at MuleSoft as the head of global people and places, and at Salesforce as the senior vice president of human resources for strategy and operations. He has also served in organization development practice leadership roles at Accenture and Booz Allen, working with clients in the U.S. intelligence community, Oil & Gas, communications and high technology industries.
David holds a bachelor’s degree in International Relations from Catholic University and a master’s degree in organizational sciences from George Washington University. He is a retired Lieutenant from the U.S. Navy Reserve and lives with his family in Newport Beach, California.
