Dean StoeckerChairman and Chief Executive Officer
Dean Stoecker is chairman and chief executive officer (CEO) of Alteryx. Dean co-founded Alteryx in 1997 and has since led the company through solid organic growth, three rounds of funding, and a successful IPO in March 2017 — recognized as a top performer in the class of 2017. Dean’s leadership and motivational skills, along with his ability to create, communicate, and realize a vision, are a driving force behind the company’s 20+ year success.
The company’s performance since going public in 2017 is a direct result of the company’s ability to execute on delivering a transformational experience to customers of all sizes, and Dean’s unique vision and strategy around empowering every worker, regardless of technical acumen, to transform their data into actionable insights and drive meaningful business impact.
Dean serves as advisor to entrepreneurs and is an active philanthropist, creating the Alteryx for Good program to bring the thrill of solving real-world problems to nonprofits, educators, and local communities. Dean is passionate about humanizing the world of data science and analytics, which is evident in the company’s culture, extensive resources for continued education, and efforts to influence social change. Before co-founding Alteryx, Dean held various sales and business leadership roles at Strategic Mapping and Dun & Bradstreet. Dean earned his MBA from Pepperdine University and his undergraduate degree in international business from the University of Colorado, Boulder.
Scott JonesPresident and Chief Revenue Officer
Scott Jones is the president and chief revenue officer (CRO) of Alteryx, responsible for global growth of the sales and professional services teams. Scott’s vision and leadership in merging an enterprise solution-oriented sales model with the existing, successful land-and-expand strategy is instrumental in the high-growth returns Alteryx continues to deliver.
As a key participant in the evolution of self-service and end-to-end analytics platforms, Scott recognizes the power that sophisticated yet easy-to-use solutions can deliver — empowering people to solve impactful business and societal problems.
Scott is committed to driving a culture focused on humanizing the world of data science and analytics and helping both associates and customers embrace the unconventional, challenge the status quo, and help alter the record book with Alteryx.
Before joining Alteryx, Scott served in leadership roles at Tableau, SAP, and Business Objects, accumulating more than 15 years of experience in the analytic software space. Scott maintains extensive experience building and managing sales teams in the enterprise software and marketing service industries, and a 25-year track record of rapid, high-impact success in both startups and market-leading companies.
Scott earned a bachelor’s degree from California State University, Chico and received his MBA from Pepperdine Graziadio School of Business Management.
Olivia Duane Adams
Olivia Duane AdamsChief Customer Officer
Olivia Duane Adams (Libby) is the chief customer officer (CCO) and co-founder of Alteryx, and one of only a handful of female founders to take a technology company public, along with her founding counterparts, Dean Stoecker and Ned Harding. Libby’s vision and leadership in the creation of the world’s leading data science and analytics community is a key factor in the company’s 20+ year success. Under Libby’s leadership, the Alteryx Community has grown both on- and offline, serving as an incubator for the workforce of the future and empowering women in business via the Alteryx Women of Analytics initiative.
Libby recognized early on that creating a customer-centric culture went beyond delivering a successful product experience and set out to enable a global community of passionate data lovers, where Alteryx users can solve more together, boldly step into the unknown, and achieve more than they ever thought possible. Libby spearheads the growth of the Alteryx Community as an engaging platform online as well as offline, with support for local and topic-focused user groups, launching what is known today as the Alteryx Inspire user conference and introducing the Alteryx ACE program.
Before co-founding Alteryx, Libby held various sales, customer, and marketing roles at Strategic Mapping, Donnelley, and VNU Business Media.
Libby earned a bachelor’s degree from Castleton University in Vermont and is an active member of the university’s alumni association.
Kevin RubinChief Financial Officer
Kevin Rubin is chief financial officer (CFO) of Alteryx, responsible for all financial management activities including finance and analysis, accounting, tax, treasury, and business applications. Kevin brings 20 years of experience in the industry, leading both public and private technology companies through rapid growth and expansion.
Before joining Alteryx, Kevin was chief financial officer of MSC Software, a private equity-backed software company. Kevin was responsible for managing MSC through significant transition including aligning the financial and business operations to support MSC’s growth through systems, processes, and human capital. Kevin also led strategic activities including debt and recapitalizations transactions, and mergers and acquisitions.
Kevin previously served as chief financial officer for Pictage, a venture-backed Software-as-a-Service (SaaS) provider; DataDirect Networks, a data storage equipment provider; and MRV Communications, a publicly traded telecommunications equipment provider. Kevin started his career at Arthur Andersen as a member of its Technology Practice working with a broad range of small, privately held companies to large, publicly traded organizations.
Kevin is a certified public accountant (inactive) in California and holds a bachelor’s degree in business economics with an emphasis in accounting from the University of California, Santa Barbara.
Derek KnudsenChief Technology Officer
Derek is the chief technology officer of Alteryx, responsible for all technology and technology initiatives at the company, including Engineering and IT. Derek brings more than 20 years of experience helping companies leverage technology for strategic advantage, as well as leading technology organizations as they scale for growth.
Before joining Alteryx, Derek was a partner with Credera, focused on technology and business strategy. Derek also worked at Irvine Company where he was a divisional CIO, responsible for the technology and digital transformation of their largest business, Irvine Company Apartments.
Derek has also held a variety of roles at Avanade, including chief technology officer, vice president of corporate strategy and director of engineering. Derek also served as solution architect at Accenture, focused on architecting digital transformation solutions for Fortune 500 companies.
Derek holds a MBA from the University of Southern California and a bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering from the University of Arizona.
Sharmila MulliganChief Strategy Officer
Sharmila Mulligan is the chief strategy officer (CSO) of Alteryx, responsible for the company’s Silicon Valley operations, strategic planning, technology partnerships and more. She joined Alteryx in the company’s acquisition of ClearStory Data, a modern data analytics company enabling automated business insights from disparate data, where she served as CEO. Sharmila has spent 25+ years building game-changing software companies in a variety of software and software-as-a-service (SaaS) markets.
Before joining Alteryx, Sharmila held executive roles at Aster Data Systems (acquired by Teradata Corporation), Hewlett-Packard (HP), Opsware (acquired by HP), and Netscape Communications, with previous roles at Microsoft and General Magic. She has driven the creation of several multi-billion-dollar market categories, including application servers, data center automation, and Big Data analytics.
Sharmila sits on the board of directors for ConocoPhillips and Lattice Engines, and serves as an advisor to numerous enterprise software and consumer technology companies. Sharmila earned two bachelor's degrees, in economics (BA) and computer science (BS), and received her MBA from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.
Chris LalChief Legal Officer
Chris Lal is chief legal officer of Alteryx, responsible for all legal affairs, including intellectual property, licensing, contract negotiations, compliance, and corporate governance. Chris has over 20 years of experience as a corporate, transactions, and securities attorney representing both public and private companies in various phases of development and growth.
Before joining Alteryx, Chris was vice president, general counsel and secretary of Tilly’s, Inc., an NYSE-traded retail and e-commerce company, where he oversaw legal affairs related to SEC and NYSE compliance, Federal Trade Commission matters, e-commerce, intellectual property, and labor and employment. He managed complex litigation and was interim head of human resources.
Before Tilly’s, Chris served as general counsel at Thompson National Properties, Sunstone Hotel Investors, and RemedyTemp, helping these companies through various stages of growth and corporate change. Chris began his career at O’Melveny & Myers, LLP, as a member of the corporate and securities practice, where he advised clients on matters including public securities offerings and private placements, corporate finance transactions, mergers and acquisitions, and corporate governance.
Chris holds a B.A. from the University of California, Santa Barbara, and a J.D. from the University of Southern California.
Alan JacobsonChief Data and Analytics Officer
Alan Jacobson is the chief data and analytics officer (CDAO) of Alteryx, driving key data initiatives and accelerating digital business transformation for the Alteryx global customer base. As CDAO, Jacobson leads the company’s data science practice as a best-in-class example of how a company can get maximum leverage out of its data and the insights it contains. He is responsible for data management and governance, product and internal data, and use of the Alteryx Platform to drive continued growth.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Alan held a variety of leadership roles at Ford Motor Company across engineering, marketing, sales and new business development; most recently leading a team of data scientists to drive digital transformation across the enterprise. As an Alteryx evangelist at Ford, Alan spent many years leveraging the Alteryx Platform across the company and witnessed first-hand the impact a culture of analytics can have on the bottom line and what it takes to succeed as a data-driven enterprise. Alan will extend his role as an evangelist to customers, helping data workers and business leaders alike foster a culture of analytics and deepen their investments in digital transformation strategies.
Alan was recognized as a top leader in the global automotive industry as an Automotive Hall of Fame Leadership & Excellence award winner and an Outstanding Engineer of the Year by the Engineering Society of Detroit, and works with the National Academy of Engineering and other organizations as an advisor on data science topics.
Alan earned his bachelor’s degrees in engineering from the University of New Hampshire and received his master’s degree in mechanical engineering from Virginia Tech.
Amy HeidersbachChief Marketing + Community Officer
Amy Heidersbach is the chief marketing officer (CMO) at Alteryx, responsible for evolving the company’s global go-to-market (GTM) strategy to help business leaders leverage analytics to drive digital transformation. Amy’s leadership in amplifying the Alteryx brand and applying modern, data-driven marketing practices to foster a best-in-class team are critical components of the company’s success.
Amy is a transformational marketing leader, parlaying her experience building authentic brands, launching innovative products and scaling global businesses to help the company aggressively enter and dominate markets. She is passionate about fostering a brand with purpose, committed to identifying real problems that Alteryx can solve for real people and diligent in measuring business outcomes. Amy credits the company’s high growth, enthusiastic customer base and talented, engaged associates as key motivators in her leadership.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Amy was the CMO of CareerBuilder and held various leadership roles at Capital One, PayPal and Visa. At CareerBuilder, Amy redefined the company’s purpose, brand strategy and portfolio product positioning, and quickly launched an integrated campaign to reintroduce the company to the market. Amy served as the vice president, head of marketing for Capital One, where she lead the company’s Digital Division in bringing new, digital-first products to market, and as head of marketing for PayPal, where she was responsible for scaling acquisition and deepening relationships with consumers, developers, partners and enterprise businesses.

Scott DavidsonChief Operating Officer
Scott Davidson is the chief operating officer (COO) at Alteryx and is responsible for building out the infrastructure that enables global scale and efficiency, including Corporate Development, Information Technology, Enterprise Applications and Human Resources. By aligning both people- and business-centered operations, Scott ensures that Alteryx associates are seamlessly integrated into the company’s culture and systems.
Scott brings 20 years of senior operational and financial leadership experience to Alteryx. Having held strategic roles at fast-growing software companies, Scott supports the execution on strategy for growth and innovation at Alteryx as the business continues to invest in talent, grow its user base and enter new markets. His strong background in working with data-centric companies and keen understanding of how data can be leveraged to solve real-world problems are instrumental in ensuring Alteryx is well-positioned for hyper growth and market leadership.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Scott served as the chief operating officer and chief financial officer (CFO) at Hortonworks, a public open source data platform company that he took public in 2014. As COO and CFO, he oversaw Finance, HR, IT, Corporate Development, Sales, Marketing and Professional Services. In 2018, he successfully engineered the $5.2 billion merger of Hortonworks into Cloudera. Prior to this, Scott was the CFO of Quest Software and held strategic financial roles at Citrix Systems.
Scott holds a master’s degree in business administration from the University of Miami.
Billy SpearsChief Information Security Officer
Billy Spears is the chief information security officer (CISO) at Alteryx and is responsible for overseeing enterprise cybersecurity and associated risk management practices. With a strong focus in both internal and external security, Billy ensures that Alteryx associates, customers, partners and vendors are thoroughly protected via state-of-the-art policies, processes and technologies. His passion for architecting and implementing strategic solutions that build trust, enable resilience and incorporate core principles are driving transformation and simplifying processes across the organization.
Billy brings more than 20 years of experience leading and building teams in the information and security space across both the corporate world and the federal government. His strong background in information and security across different industries and verticals is critical in enforcing best practices within all areas of the business. Billy’s informed guidance and strategic approach to risk management and security efforts is instrumental in improving protections as Alteryx and the larger self-service analytics market continues to grow and expand across the globe.
Prior to joining Alteryx, Billy served as executive vice president and chief information security officer at loanDepot, a market leader and online mortgage lender for consumers. While in this role, Billy helped create the first security enabled digital home loan experience for consumers – a game-changing advancement in the mortgage business. Billy has held similar positions at companies like Hyundai Capital America, General Electric and Dell, as well as the U.S. Department of Homeland Security. He is also a veteran of the U.S. Marine Corps.
Billy is an adjunct cybersecurity professor for Webster University and a member of the company advisory board for Cymatic, a web application defense platform. Billy holds a bachelor’s degree in information technology from National University and received his MBA from University of Phoenix.
